The City that Never Sleeps
In New York there is life day and night, and especially in Times Square, there is plenty of happenings around the clock. Here you will find restaurants, bars and lots of exciting shops such as the Disney Store, M&M's World, popular clothing stores such as Levis, Forever and several electronics stores.
In Times Square, you will also find many of the popular musicals such as Les Misérables, The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera and others. It is not exactly cheap to see a musical, but it is something very special to experience the fantastic scenes, costumes, singing and dancing that all musicals offer.
The many high-rise buildings, the parks and the rivers are absolutely fantastic to see from above, and there are several options for that. The Empire State Building, One World Trade Center and Rockefeller all provide good views of the city. Although Rockefeller is the lowest of the three mentioned, you get a really good view from the top of this building. Especially in addition to Central Park, which is definitely also worth a visit.
In Central Park you can, among other things, find a sculpture by H.C. Andersen, a zoo, lakes, playgrounds and several places to eat. During the year, various events are organized in the park for both young and old. Winter offers e.g. on ice rinks, and the summer offers an amusement park. You may also be lucky enough to have a concert in the park when you are there.
New York has about 8.5 million inhabitants spread over several boroughs. The vast majority live in Manhattan, where there is plenty of life, and this is also where most tourists want to go. However, it may also be worth visiting districts such as Brooklyn and Queens. It takes no more than 25-35 minutes by subway to Brooklyn, and here you will experience a slightly different pace than Manhattan.
